Football or Soccer as it is popularly referred to as in the states, is undoubtedly the most played and watched sport all over the world. The game has enjoyed some of the greatest athletes over the years and decades. Here is a list of top five soccer players of all times:

Pele

The player is three time world cup winner with Brazil. He had won in the years 1958, 1962 and 1970. Pele is the greatest footballer of last century. FIFA recognized his unprecedented skills and awarded him with the title of the best footballer of the 20th century. Pele’s international career was a huge success. Messi is considered as the greatest footballer to have ever played. He is 28 and has several more years in hand. In 2015, he had 53 goals to his name. Messi joined Barcelona at a tender age of 13. At 17, he made his first team debut. There was no looking back since then. His contribution was significant in all of the successes Barcelona had since last decade. Xavi Hernandez

Hernandez started his career in Barcelona youth teams in the year 1998. In 2002 when Barcelona was struggling hard to buy new players, Hernandez emerged as a boon.
