Dating – A cozy relationship.
New generation is all about exploring and evaluating possibilities before they jump into something serious.
The term “dating” is not all about “Casual sex”, “Hopeless Romance” or “Just a casual meeting”. Dating is a combination of steps whereby two people meet socially for companionship, beyond the level of friendship, or with the aim of each assessing the other’s suitability as a partner in an intimate relationship or marriage. It can be a form of engagement consisting of social activities done by the couple. While the term has several meanings, it usually refers to the act of meeting and engaging in some mutually agreed upon social activity in public, together, as a couple.
What Society thinks about dating?
Are we open to giving our children liberty to choose their partners and decide for themselves who is the right one? Well, looking at the trends in colleges and a series of reality shows on television, dating is definitely misunderstood. One should take his/her own time to understand the other person and see how well the two connect with each other, how compatible they are in terms of food habits, temperaments, interests and future vision.
If you are going on a date then definitely you would like it to be a memorable one. So, let’s find out some dating tips/advice which are going to help you with a pleasurable experience of dating and winning over your partner’s heart and attention.
Look good and be confident
A nice haircut, smart casuals are the essentials to make a good impression. Wear a smile and be confident about who you are. Don’t fake anything, your personality or cloths. Be hygienic and clean.
Dress up nicely
Your whole personality and the first impression is based on the way you present yourself. Wear smart casuals.
- For guys, a buttoned shirt or a polo T-shirt is the best choice. Do not wear anything with funny remarks on it. Select the colors according to your personality. Decent, light colors are soothing for mind and soul.
- For girls, anything which does not show a lot of skin will work. The cloths should not be too tight or too lose.
Wear a nice perfume or deodorant. Do not mix various fragrances. Do not try something very strong. Some people are allergic to strong perfumes, so make sure you decide this based on the last series of meetings or observations. Use a mouth spray or chewing gum before you actually come in front of your date.
One good factor which makes everyone happy is being punctual. No matter if you are going for a coffee date or out for lunch with partner or movie, make sure you reach on time. Waiting for someone can really be annoying. Value each other’s time.
Mind your manners
This is a key ingredient for a successful dating. No girl likes a guy whose rude and obnoxious, but don’t be too formal either. Also, for girls, being arrogant, demanding and pricy might not work every time. If you are out for dinner date with partner, order food with the choice of both partners. Follow table manners. Chew with your mouth closed, don’t slurp your drink, don’t talk with your mouth full, burp, or do anything that could be perceived as disgusting.
Don’t let the conversation be completely focused on you
Talking about only yourself can make you seem arrogant. So, talk about your common interests, families, studies, work, movies etc. Find out what interests the other person.
Be a good listener
On a date, a great listener knows how to keep the conversation moving with a healthy mix of giving and take. The more you focus on asking the other person questions, the more you’ll learn about them. Don’t be too judgmental.
This one is perhaps the most important of all the points. If you’re not being yourself on a date, you are truly doing a disfavor to the other person. They agreed to go out with you because there was something about you that called for their attention. If you think of yourself as a silly and humorous person, don’t hide that from your date. Be yourself and let your true energy shine through. If your date isn’t interested in that side of you, then you’ll know it’s time to move on.
Share the expenses
Sharing is caring, keeping this in mind, ask for sharing the bills. This will definitely make you feel good. Don’t expect someone to spend on you.
Bid farewell with a smile
Hug each other. Kiss if your bonding allows, don’t force though. Plan for the next meeting in advance. Connect with each other or call once you reach back home.
